3x+5=2x-10
-2x -2x
X+5=-10
-5 -5
X=-15
3(-15)+y=5
-45+y=5
+45 +45
y=50
2(-15)-y=10
-30-y=10
+30 +30
-y=40
Divide by -1 on both sides
y=-40
